Anticipation for school. The end of work. The end of shenanigans. A stop to late nights..if I could help it. Colder nights, bon-fires and digging for sweaters. Pumpkin spice latte’s and cider donuts. Fall is back. But before it could come. There was one last trip to the beach and a quick camping trip to VT.
My second attempt at getting Shadow in the water. He really did enjoy it once he realized his stick could float in the water. This lake was down the road from our campsite in VT.
Nap time for the big boy, he refused to lay on the ground. Spoiled muchhh.
The view from the top of a Fire Tower at the end of a trail at our campsite. You could see CT, MA and NY from the top, in each direction. It took me at least 20 minutes to work up the courage to walk to the top, until a very friendly woman helped me conquer my fear. It was certainly worth it in the end.
At the beginning of August, Mom and I took a second trip back down to Maryland to visit the family, but first we stopped in Ocean City. This is on Assateague Island only a mile or so from OC. Wild horses roam all over the island but signs were scattered to warn visitors of their danger. Even for August the water was chilly but adaptable. Shadow was definitely the one with the hot bod that day…several younger girls politely came up to me asking permission to pet him.
Needless to say, it was a good getaway.
