This year, November 24 has been nothing but commercialized. The last time I checked this holiday was about being with your family, indulging in good eats and being thankful for all sorts of things. On a social level, football and the parade are important as well. But according to frequent word, some employees are not going to be able to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving mean with their family because they will be too busy sleeping in preparation for a long night. Most stores for black Friday used to open up at the wee hours of the morning. Now stores are considering opening up the night of Thanksgiving.
The idea of overall respect for tradition has diminished entirely. Family, food and football is important and the sales can simply wait.
Is it really worth it?
