People who can make their own happiness and teach/learn from themselves based on experiences are amazing influences. Be the best that you can be without relying on others to make that happen. No one else can determine your happiness.
Recently I’ve noticed that people’s emotions depend on who they associate with and what is happening in their daily life. Others may have a different opinion on this, but I simply believe that if you are unhappy, you should not let it ruin days and weeks, just get over it. This could also be a common concern for people my age as well-the whole ‘getting over it’ factor. Some tend to rely on others to cheer them up and make them happy again. Sure that’s awesome to have friends who will always be there for you to cheer you up, but it’s your life, not theirs.
In previous posts I’ve mentioned how to release stress (journal writing, exercising, etc) and this can be a scenario of killing two birds with one stone. Usually after people are distressed, they are relieved and more enjoyable to be around. It’s important as a human being not to make your unhappiness the common cold. The people around you do not need/want to hear your every complaint because whatever you’re mad about is likely to tick them off even more.
This also goes hand-in-hand with being independent, something I find my generation lacking greatly. Yesterday Animal Planet’s Jeff Corwin spoke at my college and aside from the focus on science he pointed out a lot of wonderful things about life. Family generations used to excel better than the past and now the opposite is happening. So, before when you had your parents starting from the bottom and making the child’s life better than theirs, a reverse has occurred. The offspring is now failing and bringing it onto their offspring.
After saying that, I’m sure you can think of a handful of people who fit that picture. In retrospective, if things are getting worse REVERSE IT BACK TO NORMAL. You have the ability to control your own life, emotions, moods, whatever. The people who are always negative (for attention) really irk me too… After a while I don’t want to be around you if your life isn’t going the way you planned. Fix it and your mood and sure we can talk again.
Another thing Corwin talked about was his career and how the amazing moments that he encounters with animals and their habitat is what seriously fuels him to work harder.
“Nothings ever been handed to me, I fought for it,” said Corwin. ”
You are who you associate yourself with. From what I learned in psychology, moods are very easily contagious and could potentially harm people for the worst. I also understand that some people really can’t control themselves and how they feel, but i’m not trying to be a part of that either. Unless you are always on drugs, you are the only one controlling you.
That is all.

Mostly your emotions are on an even keel and you do not get depressed easily, however you feel enraged when things do not go your way. You are sensitive about being treated fairly and feel resentful and bitter if you think you are being cheated. You lead a leisurely and relaxed life. You would prefer to sit back and smell the roses than indulge in high energy activities. You tend not to express your emotions openly and are sometimes not even aware of your own feelings. You are willing to take credit for good things that you do but you don’t often talk yourself up much, however you are not affected strongly by human suffering, priding yourself on making objective judgments based on reason. You are more concerned with truth and impartial justice than with mercy.
You are well-organized and like to live according to routines and schedules. Often you will keep lists and make plans. |
