balance

The lack of posts for over a month now, can be sadly be attributed to the spring 2014 semester, and from now on. I currently hold a position at the Beacon, school newspaper, as a staff writer and author of a health and fitness column. On top of that, includes midterms, and a NYC trip over spring break for the College Media Convention.

Next semester though… I will potentially be a part of the executive board for three different clubs, hopefully obtain some sort of work, and be forced to take at least one or two other core classes–which means science and history death/boredom/confusion bomb.

I still try and post my spontaneous thoughts and ideas on my Twitter handle, but until summer or an invigorating experience arises, I’ll be busy on the school front. Although, I’ll have much commentary to share from the NYC trip and will be eager to share it with my readers!

busy

Here’s a thought that was discussed in an article that I recently read about.

People are always busy with their schedules, but how does being busy differentiate from being productive?

And, what/who keeps you balanced?

In simplest forms, when I want to be productive I think about cleaning the house, running errands and finishing all of my homework and then some (in a perfect world). But, think about how long it takes to read a few chapters of a book, depending on the font size, it may take hours. So, even though all of these tasks make you sound busy, you end up being productive as well. People who are consumed with back-to-back meetings and lunch dates are only busy and not productive. Those are things that they have to do, but may also make money by doing it. The other example were necessary but things you have to have a drive to do and get done in order to have your life in order.

The never-ending smart phone notifications and stress can be unhealthy and lead to a miserable life. Be happy and enjoy what lemons life gives you.

Without thinking too deeply, would you rather have a busy life, or a productive life?
