…is what I’ve been saying all day long.

In the northeast, it’s no surprise that you’ll be snowed in at least half a dozen times during the winter. Thanksgiving was much snowier than Christmas, so naturally I was reading for spring once the new year hit. But, mother nature plays her games and brings a series of storms just in time for Valentines Day.

After winter break and already two snow days, i’m definitely already bored and have already surpassed weeks of assigned reading. This gives me time to reflect on my subtle iPhone note resolutions that were made a week after the ball dropped.

The last is just an errand I’ve been putting off..

But really, I’m super clumsy to the point that hitting my head on the roof of the car getting into it leads to a mini temper tantrum.

“STUPID ROOF , THIS ALWAYS HAPPENS, ARE YOU KIDDING ME, WHY DON’T I SEE THESE THINGS”

Basically I need to open my eyes more and look up, down, and all around.

I also have added a tiny journal to my purse in order to document traveling thoughts. Usually I jot things into my phone, but I’m doing another subtle resolution where I make strides to rely less on my phone unless its for text messages or phone calls (HA!).

I recently purchased a new lens for my Nikon D40 too, so i’m working toward making use of it. At least when I’m at home, my pets don’t complain about being models, but at schools, i’m reluctant to leave the apartment and chase down landscapes. Being more selfless is something everyone can improve on. Living with five other girls definitely makes me reflect on this resolution more and more as the semester goes on. Living with other people in general makes you realize that your customs and traditions are much different from others’ and sometimes you have to be understanding of that. I have a tendency to guilt others in order to get my way and that goes along the selfless lines, which is not okay.

Through consequence and confrontation being selfless remains a daily responsibility. On the other hand, one may get discouraged that because you care so much for others, a return favor never comes. Alter your mind to realize that life isn’t about the give and take. Some people focus on giving back only to await the perfect gift.

Unless you’re being taken advantage of, giving back should come from the heart. It’s beneficial for your soul and mind. It makes you a better person. That’s the outcome of resolutions, to better yourself every year. But, since is already February, everyone has disregarded their resolutions due to a series of failures.

selfless 2DON’T STOP BELIEVING. STOP BELIEVING EXCUSES.

We’ve all made those exceptions “well, I mean, i’m out with my friends who I haven’t seen in a while and so I need to indulge in nachos and drinks, etc. so I’ll just start again next year.”

EVERY DAY IS A NEW DAY. Always remember that.

After pondering upon resolutions, I’ve realized that people either rename their goals after January and transform them into more realistic short-term goals, or they rid of them overall.

Do not forget about your resolutions, and do not transform them. Let them transform you because that’s why you initiated a list in the first place! The new year is all about a new you. Unless you’re like me and look like a grumpy cat saying “Jan. 1st is just the day after Dec. 31st.”

After walls of snow pile up on the paneling of the house, you still need to drive out of the driveway. So, what are you going to do? Call the plow guy or get out there and shovel the car out because either way you’re going to have to do both (that’s what I had to do).

No matter how high the snow, water, sand, ice, make way for a better you every day. No one else is counting on you but yourself and no one is expecting those selfless behaviors. Surprises aren’t expected and being a good person isn’t either. There are less and less good people out there so be that only one.

Good luck and don’t give up!
